This Corps was originally formed 8 Oct 42 as 1888 Cyclist Cadet Corps under the sponsorship of the Canadian Corps Cyclist Battalion Association. Effective 28 Aug 1943 it affiliated with 2nd (R) District Engineer RCE, CA. The Corps disbanded 8 Nov 48 and redesignated 9 Nov 48 as 2nd Field Engineer Regiment Cadet Corps under the sponsorship and affiliation of the 2nd Field Engineer Regiment. 1085-11-4 (DCOS Pers) dated 18 Mar 75 placed Corps on probation due to a lack of cadets until 31 Dec 75. 1085-11-4 (SSO Cadets) dated 23 Jul 75 extended probation to 31 Jan 76 and 1085-11-4 (DCOS Ops) dated 30 Mar 77 extended probation until 1 Sep 77 and 1085-11-4 (DCOS Ops) dated 7 Sep 77 extended probation until 31 Dec 77 and 1085-11-4 (DCOS Ops) dated 18 Jan 78 extended probation until 30 Jun 78. 1085-11-4 (COS Reg Ops) dated 9 Jan 79 removed probation.
