History -   

This Corps was formed in 1941 as 1813 Cranbrook School Cadet Corps. In 1947 affiliation with 107 Field Battery RCA was authorized. affil.: 107th Field Battery RCA, July 17, 1947. The Corps was disbanded in 1953 due to the change in type of Corps (from school to open) and was reactivated under the sponsorship of 107 Heavy Anti-Aircraft Battery RCA. The Corps became known as 1813 107 HAA Battery, RCA Cadet Corps, RCAC. In 1955 the Corps changed affiliation to 24th HAA Regiment RCA. In 1956 the Corps redesignated as 1813 Cranbrook Army Cadet Corps and became affiliated with 18th Field Regiment (SP) RCA. redisig: Cranbrook Army Cadet Corps, Jan 1, 1956. affil.: 18th Field Regt (SP) RCA, Jan 1, 1956. In 1958 affiliation was again changed to 8 Field Engineer Regt RCE. affil.: 8th Field Engineer Regt, Nov 1, 1958. Sponsorship was taken over by 17 Field Sqn RCE (M) in 1958. According to the 1969 annual inspection report sponsorship changed to Branch 24, Royal Canadian Legion and affiliation to 44th Fd Sqn. D Cdts 771 messaged dated Oct 79 changed base support from CFB Chilliwack to CFB Calgary. D Cdts 200 messaged dated 25 Feb 83 changed affiliation to Lord Strathcona's Horse (Royal Canadian).
Eff 21 Aug 1997 the Sponsor changed from the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 24 to the Korea Veteran's Association of Canada Inc. (East Kootenay Unit 36) (D Cdts Adm Msg 473 refers). H.Q. 12-C-162
