History -
1712 Edson Cadet Corps was formed 13 Nov 40. In 1947 the Corps disbanded and reformed under the sponsorship of the Royal Canadian Legion and retained their former designation. affil.: 25th Field Sqn RCE, Apr 7, 1954. In 1954 affiliation was authorized with 25 Fd Sqn RCE (RF). In 1970 the Corps was placed on probation due to low cadet attendance and lack of sufficient adult assistance. In Dec 70 affiliation changed to 8th Fd Engr Regt. In the 197l annual inspection report the Corps was having some difficulty. Effective 12 Jul 84 the Corps was placed on probation due to low cadet strength for a period of six months (letter 1087-11 (Dec Comd) refers). Eff 13 Sep 94 affiliation changed to Loyal Edmonton Regt, 4th Bn, PPCLI (DCdts Adm 656 refers). H.Q. 12-E-58
