History -
No 1442 River Hebert Cadet Corps formed 30 Oct 29. The Corps disbanded 13 November 1935. It was reformed 30 Sep 1940, affil.: 2nd (R) Bn North Nova Scotia Highlanders Nov 13, 1942. and disbanded again 30 June 1947.
The corps reformed effective 29 October 1948 (CAO 107/49) as the River Hebert Rural High School Cadet Corps, and was under the sponsorship of River Hebert Rural High School Advisory Board. It was redesignated River Hebert District High School Cadet Corps after 1955. affil.: 1st Bn Nova Scotia Highlanders Jan 1, 1955. The Corps became affiliated with lst Battalion, The Nova Scotia Highlanders (North). Effective 1 Sep 83 the Corps changed sponsor to Branch 14, Royal Canadian Legion and changed to an Open Corps.
CF 790 96/97 lists Maccan (143) and River Hebert (4) Legions in addition to Joggins(14) Legion as sponsor, no auth.
