History -
This Corps was originally formed 21 Nov 1925 under the sponsorship of the Bathurst High School Board and was designated as No 1242 Bathurst Cadet Corps. In Jan 1927 authority was granted to affiliate with the North Shore (NB) Regiment. affil.: 2nd Bn Royal New Brunswick Regt (North Shore), Jan 1, 1955. In 1958 the sponsor requested and was granted a change of designation. The Corps became known as 1242 Bathurst High School Cadet Corps. In December 1958 the Corps became affiliated with 2nd Battalion. The Royal New Brunswick Regiment (North Shore). In September 1969 the corps was re-organized under a new sponsorship of the Royal Canadian Legion with same affiliation. In April 1972 recommendation was made to disband the Corps but no action was taken to disband it and in Oct 1973 MARCOM advised that the Corps would be inactive until late 1974. The corps was disbanded 9 Oct 1975.
