# 48 Cadet Corps

1985

July 1985 10 cadets and 3 officers visited the Gordons in Scotland and were guests of the people of Apeldorn Holland where they were privelaged to visit the sites of battles and graves of the 48th Highlanders of Canada. 

In September the corps participated in the town parade in Palmtra, NY and teh corps came in third n teh colour party presentation.

October brought a change of command

P/M Bennett was selected to play and to receive the cadet pipe banner at BNACC in Banff from HRH Prince Philip the Duke of Edinburgh. IN Colorado C/Sgt Bennett, C/Cpl McDougall wit ha cadet from another corps came first in the trio competition.

Three pipers: C/Cpl Anderson, C/Sgt Bennett and C/LCpl Murdoch were part of a group of 17 pipers who participated in the Ottawa Police Tattoo in September

The corps won the biathlon and Cdt Pankatz won the bronze in the individual cadet catogory

C/WO Cook and C/Sgt Labell passed their gold star exams.
