CADET CORPS INSPECTION

 

The Woodstock High School Cadet Corps have been preparing for some weeks for the forthcoming Annual Inspection to be held Monday next at 1:30 p.m.   The Corps this year consists of two platoons of High School boys, one platoon of Juniors from Grades 6, 7, and 8, and two platoons of High School girls.  To start off the inspection the Bugle Band will lead the entire company on a route march through town.

RESULTS INTERSCHOOL RIFLE COMPETITION

 

Results in the Inter-School Rifle competition for the Royal Military College Club Challenge Shield show that Cadet Corps in Military District No.7 have been able to place well among the leaders of the 145 teams entered in the competition.

 

Highest place for New Brunswick was taken by the Saint John Vocational School Cadet Corps team which chalked up a score of 960 out of the possible 1000 to win eight place in the Dominion-wide competition.  The Fredericton High School Cadet team followed close with two points less and tied for 10th place.

 

The All-Canada match was won by Windsor-Walkerville Technical School with a score of 984, two points under the score with which the same team captured the Shield last year.

 

Results obtained by the other Cadet Corps teams from New Brunswick schools are given below with their scores and places in the competition:  Moncton High School 951, tied for 16th place; Woodstock High (1st team) 908, 54th place; Chatham Gammer, 895, 64th place; Bathurst, 889, 71st place; Rothesay Collegiate, 878, 87th place; Rothesay Consolidated, 848, 103rd place; Woodstock High (2nd team) 845, 105th place; and St. Peter’s Boys Saint John, 830, 114th place.

W.H.S. CADETS

 

All W.H.S. Cadets, over 15 years of age, who plan to attend Cadet Camp at Utopia are to report to C.Q.M.S. Hillman at the Armoury at once to obtain a Haversack.  Special train leaves Woodstock around 9:00 a.m. , August 25.  You will march from the Armoury in charge of C.Q.M.S. Hillman.
