Area Cadet Instructor Cadre Officer
MAJOR DANIEL J. DAVIES, CD
Major Dan Davies was born and raised in Fort St. John, BC. Since 1983 he has been involved with the Canadian Cadet Movement; first as a cadet then as a Civilian Instructor. In 1995 Major Davies enrolled in the Cadet Instructor Cadre (CIC) and two years later he became the Commanding Officer of 2276 RCACC, Fort St. John until 2003. In 2003 he moved to Vancouver to complete his Bachelor of Education degree at Simon Fraser University and became the Commanding Officer of 2290 RCACC in Vancouver. In 2005, with degree in hand, Major Davies moved back to Fort St. John. Upon his return he acted as interim Commanding Officer for 2276 and in the fall of 2005 was appointed the Area Cadet Instructor Cadre Officer (ACICO). He is currently an ACICO at large for the province of B.C. and the Zone Coordinator for Peace River.
For the past ten years Major Davies has attended numerous summer training centres. He worked as a canoe instructor, Adventure Training Officer, Company 2IC and Company Commander in Vernon. In Connaught, Ottawa he had the pleasure of attending advanced training courses, to England for the Maple Leaf Exchange and to Norway. In 2005, Major Davies became involved in the International Exchange Programme for the outgoing Canadian cadets and recently has been in charge of coordinating the exchange for the international cadets coming to Canada.
In his personal life Major Davies is a full time Elementary school teacher, City Councillor and long-standing member of the Royal Canadian Legion. Major Davies resides in Fort St. John with his wife Erin and daughter Hana.
