Yes, those are girls. Cadettes existed in many corps across the country long before 1975. The solution was simple. Change the name to Cadettes or Kadettes and girls aren't in Cadets. The 1705 band was well know locally, playing for many years with many girls going through the musical program of a drum and bugle band.  (Greater Vernon and are  Museum)
