Borden was unique in that it was a tri-service cadet school
later in it's life,
focusing on trades long after trades training camps in Ipperwash,
Dundurn, Farnham and Vernon had been phased out. That said, it was a
trades training camp for Army Cadets in the 1950s. In 1971 the camp
became a "School". The last Army Cadet
course, Athletic Leadership, was held in 1994 before being moved
to Blackdown. Blackdown is of course within the confines of CFB Borden
and as such is treated as a separate entity within the history of army
cadets.
