The ORA Shoot is held annually (Sept or Oct) at Connaught Ranges in Ottawa. It is sponsored by the Ontario Rifle Association. The badge is handed out to every participant. The match is for the #7 Lee-Enfield Rifle only. About 20-28 teams compete annually. This is a Regional Shoot for Corps/Squadrons in Ontario. This is an Army Cadet competition only. The Central Region Marksmanship competition is the Daisy 853-C Air Rifle provincial competition. The top 20 teams in the province are invited based on Zone results. This is a tri-service competition and the winner gets to represent Ontario at the Nationals. The location of the Regionals rotates between the four areas of the Region (Central, Eastern, Western and Northern) who take turns hosting the event every year. There are 5 competitors per team. |
